The best photos of the year 2021
a year of growth and movement for Holladay Photography
Of course my new baby is the number one photo on my list of best photos of the year. I spent most of this past year taking care of this peanut. Making way too many photos of her and enjoying every moment.
2021 was a slow year for Holladay Photography. A combo of COVID-19, moving back to Michigan, and a new baby slowed everything down.
The launch of my senior photo brand
I stepped into creating senior pictures here in Grand Rapids, and I am loving every second. I have had a couple seniors from Forest Hills School District. One of them was from my Alma Mater Forest Hills Central! Go Rangers. Senior Photos really lets me flex my portrait skills and to share my style of sportraits that were featured in publications like sports illustrated and The Sporting News while I was a photojournalist. I am hoping to really jump into senior pictures and show the Class of 2022 a new style of senior photos in the Grand Rapids area.
Becoming a Photoshop Jedi
I put a ton of my free time into learning and perfecting some new Photoshop skills. Look for awesome new things soon from me here. I also worked very hard on creating a new black and white look for some archive images. The image of the Arch in St. Louis is my first test run with the new black and white tones. I am hoping to find a space to show them in 2022.
Education and Workshops
I am also starting to offer workshops and one to one mentoring for photography. Very excited about this part of the new year. I was taught by some incredible photographers over the years. The generosity of their time and knowledge is something I want to pass on. Forming a strong photo community and making great photo friends is a huge goal for me in 2022.
The new year is looking shiny and I can’t wait to help create amazing and unique photos for my clients and friends! Contact us and let us know your photography needs.
